Juanell's Chair© is a series written for broadcast by the Black Baby Boomer sibling team of Davvie and Vivian Mims. The series comprises 50 richly original stories inspired by Juanell Mims, their 93-year-old living matriarch, mother, protagonist, and blessed title bearer.
Grounded in the iconic Black RONDO neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota, Juanell's Chair© is an engaging and dynamic drama that narrates situations from yesteryear reframed through magical realism to showcase Black communities uniting and gaining true constitutional equality in America though a pre-civil rights organization called The Network©.
Through compelling characters and unique storytelling, the series interweaves fact and fantasy, what was, what might have been and what can be.
The Mission of ricerootsllc is to serve innovative programs, purposeful engagement, and courageous collaboration that informs and improves the lives of Black and all Americans.
ricerootsllc supports and develops culturally diverse humanities programming by bringing communities together through creative, informative, storytelling beginning with the compelling saga of Juanell's Chair©.
